If you compare the cowl helm to the season 1 Gladiator helm, I am leaning towards the Gladiator. The major increase in stamina and resilience seems to make up for the loss of armor and the 7 agi.

Cowl of Beastly Rage
423 Armor
+29 Strength
+26 Agility
+27 Stamina
+20 Intellect

Gladiator's Dragonhide Helm
356 Armor
+33 Strength
+20 Agility
+45 Stamina
+19 Intellect
+25 or +64 resilience

Once you get to season 2 there's almost no match,

Merciless Gladiator's Dragonhide Helm
404 Armor
+36 Strength
+27 Agility
+52 Stamina
+20 Intellect
+25 to +64 resilience

If you compare some of your other items such as gloves or shoulders you have suggested to the pvp gear, it seems like the pvp gear is a very good option if not better. (Obviously the t4/5 gear would be preferred but for those who still wait for that drop...)galenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14723265531668394717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2766210594567924684.post-56131360900989604172007-07-19T09:48:00.000-07:002007-07-19T09:48:00.000-07:00Generally speaking the best idea is to set a minim...Generally speaking the best idea is to set a minimum bar for all the stats you have/want. For me, the minimum armor I'm willing to run with is 23k right now and I don't want less than 12k health. Given the way our dps has ramped up their gearing lately, I'm seriously considering making a few sacrifices in order to increase my threat generation through STR, Hit Rating, Crit Rating and the like. Additionally, as I get more peripheral items with Def on them, I can begin dumping the Clefthoof set which I use as much for the Defense Rating as the AC and Stamina.

As Druid threat is so directly related to damage, it's important to maintain a balance. I can go full soak mode and still hold aggro decently, but it requires the DPS to discipline themselves, and we all know how much they hate holding back and how much they love gigantic yellow numbers.

To be more fair, though, most of the boss fights we're hitting both in Kara and in some of the Heroics and now Gruul's are requiring much more on-the-spot DPS.

But I haven't found a certain method of comparing stats. Sometimes a certain stat is more valuable than another, so I tend to look both at Emmerald's lists and Hugehoss'. In the end they're just suggestions and I try new pieces to see what works before I vendor things.Wyrmdoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00924072775886424673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2766210594567924684.post-87453849775472176582007-07-18T11:30:00.000-07:002007-07-18T11:30:00.000-07:00It's nice to see Feral rewards broken down this wa...It's nice to see Feral rewards broken down this way. How do you determine whether you're willing to sacrifice defensive stats in favor of more AGI or STR? Does upping your damage increase your ability to hold aggro considerably? Is this less significant for AOE pulls? Great post!Loni Huffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01133567916019535449noreply@blogger.com
